Robot Doorman #1

A robot who stands at the door and says what doormen say, Robot Doorman #1 exists mostly to greet, announce, and occasionally philosophize in that flat, dutiful robot cadence New New York's machines share. He is not a hero or a schemer, just a fixture of the city's background hum, doing his one small job.

The joke is the economy of it: a nothing character given a number instead of a name, treated with the same deadpan seriousness as anyone else in the Planet Express universe. Billy West's vocal range across Futurama's robots makes even a one-line doorman feel like part of a fully inhabited, slightly absurd mechanical society.
