Robot at Cinema

A minor robot glimpsed in a movie-theater crowd in Futurama's sprawling background universe, present mostly to fill out a scene rather than drive one. It behaves like any other anonymous filmgoer, reacting to whatever is on screen, its wants no bigger than getting through the show undisturbed.

Futurama's world thrives on throwaway faces exactly like this one, voiced with Tress MacNeille's reliable comic instinct even in service of a blink-and-miss-it role. The joke, if there is one, lives in the show's habit of making every background robot feel like it has its own tiny, unexplained life.
