Robo-Rooter

Robo-Rooter is a plumbing robot in the mechanical underworld of Futurama's future New New York, called on to handle the city's pipes and drains. Gruff, utilitarian, and built for a dirty job nobody else wants, it goes about its work with blunt, no-nonsense efficiency.

John DiMaggio, already the voice of Bender, brings the same rasping, world-weary growl to a machine built for a far less glamorous purpose, and the joke is in the contrast: a robot with attitude reduced to snaking out sewers. It's a small, throwaway bit of world-building that makes Futurama's future feel lived-in and absurd.
