Robert "Bulldog" Briscoe

Bulldog is KACL's blustery sports-talk host, the station's resident meathead who follows Frasier's genteel psychiatry show on the air and delights in mocking it. Loud, crude, and proudly unrefined, he struts around in team jerseys, chases women with cartoonish bravado, and treats subtlety as something that happens to other people.

He's a pure contrast machine, engineered to make Frasier's fussiness look even fussier just by standing next to him, and Dan Butler plays the meathead shtick with such committed, gravelly relish that Bulldog never curdles into contempt. The show gets a reliable jolt of vulgar energy whenever he barges through a door.
