Rob Norris

Rob is an American ad man in London on a work trip who has a week-long fling with a woman named Sharon, then flies home. When she calls to say she's pregnant, he gets on a plane back, more or less on impulse, and decides to try to build something with a near-stranger.

Delaney, also the show's co-writer, gives Rob a filthy-funny bluntness that never curdles into cruelty — he says the worst possible thing and somehow it lands as tenderness. The show trusts that decency and crassness aren't opposites, and Rob is the proof: a genuinely game, generous man who happens to talk like a disaster.
