Redneck

Redneck is one of Futurama's stock background robots, a good-ol'-boy caricature who turns up wherever a crowd needs filling out—bars, mobs, riots. He's loud, none too bright, and always ready with a hollered aside or a beer in hand, the kind of extra who somehow keeps getting a line.

He's proof that Futurama's world feels lived-in precisely because of throwaway faces like this one. David Herman's drawl gives the character a specific, twangy texture even in a single shouted joke, and the writers trust him enough to keep bringing him back, turning a background gag into a tiny recurring pleasure.
