Raynard Waits

Raynard Waits in Bosch (2015), played by Jason Gedrick.

Raynard Waits is a caught killer, an ordinary-looking man in custody who offers police a trade: lead them to the buried remains of his victims in exchange for consideration. He is soft-spoken, cooperative, oddly precise about his own crimes, and impossible to read past the calm.

Gedrick plays him without theatrics, which is what makes him unnerving — no snarling, no wild eyes, just a mild, accommodating manner that never quite explains the violence underneath. The show lets his usefulness to the investigation and his obvious danger sit side by side, and Gedrick keeps both true at once.

Raynard Waits was an alias created by Robert Foxworth in May of 1992 following the murder of Daniel Fitzpatrick and the main antagonist of season 1 in Bosch.
