Character

Randy Munchnik

Randy Munchnik in Futurama (1999), played by John DiMaggio.

Randy Munchnik turns up as one of Futurama's brash, minor irritants — a loudmouth with an inflated opinion of himself and a knack for making any room worse the moment he opens his mouth. He wants attention and gets it, whether or not he's earned it, and barrels forward regardless.

John DiMaggio has built a career out of gravelly, overconfident blowhards, and he brings that same gleeful bluster here — a voice that turns even throwaway lines into small comic events. Futurama thrives on exactly this kind of one-note character rendered with total conviction, and DiMaggio never lets the joke go soft.

Randy Munchnik is an effeminate-sounding man who holds many different jobs. He owns the jewelry store Diamonds Are Forever in New New York. He has also hosted a maternity water aerobics class. He made an ark when the polar ice caps melted and filled it with unigender animals.
