Rachel Hunter

Rachel Hunter is a young Quaker woman traveling with her brother Denzell, a doctor, through the upheaval of the American Revolution. She meets Young Ian Murray and finds herself drawn toward a world far rougher than her plain, orderly faith has prepared her for. She is watchful, principled, and quietly stubborn about what she believes is right.

Izzy Meikle-Small plays Rachel with a stillness that reads as strength rather than passivity, letting her Quaker convictions collide with battlefield chaos without ever softening into cliché. The writing trusts her intelligence, giving her arguments as much weight as affection, so her pull toward Ian feels like two competing moral systems actually reckoning with each other.
