Rachel Garrison

Rachel runs the Blue Cat, a rundown lakeside bar and lodge in the Ozarks, scraping by on regulars and small margins. She's sharp, guarded, and has no patience for outsiders — especially the too-polite family who suddenly wants to buy into her town and her business. She notices things. She asks questions other people don't.

Spiro plays Rachel as someone who has already been disappointed by life and isn't looking to be disappointed again, which makes her wariness feel earned rather than written-in. The show uses her as its moral thermometer — a local who can see exactly how much the Byrdes' arrival costs people who aren't them, and says so.
