Pvt. 'Loudmouth'

Loudmouth is exactly what his nickname promises: a Marine who never lets a silence sit unfilled. He talks big, fills the tension of waiting with jokes and bravado, and plays the room the way some men play cards. Early on he reads as comic relief, the guy who won't stop running his mouth.

War stories need someone to break the tension, and Nate Corddry gives Loudmouth just enough swagger to be funny without making him a cartoon. The nickname does the character work efficiently, and the performance keeps a flicker of nerve underneath the noise, so the bravado never feels like the whole truth.
