Professor Farnsworth

Professor Hubert Farnsworth is the ancient, wild-eyed founder of Planet Express, the tiny delivery company that employs Fry and the rest of the crew. He built the company mostly to fund his own mad inventions, and he treats his employees' safety as a minor inconvenience. Absent-minded and often confused about what year it is, he barks orders and forgets them instantly.

Billy West gives him a cracked, quavering voice that turns every sentence into either a threat or a non sequitur, and the writing leans hard into the gap between his genius and his utter indifference to consequences. The joke is never just 'funny old man' — it's a scientist so consumed by curiosity that ethics became optional decades ago, and West sells that gleefully.
