Princess Purpleberry

A princess by title, Purpleberry turns up in the corner of Futurama's sprawling universe as one of the show's many one-scene royals — a bit of ornate, faintly absurd nobility dropped into the Planet Express crew's orbit, more punchline than protagonist.

The joke of Futurama has always been dressing tossed-off characters in operatic titles, and Katey Sagal's voice — already doing heavy lifting elsewhere in the show — brings a flicker of dignity to someone who exists mainly so the writers can undercut her a moment later.
