Poppy White turns up as one of the eager young hangers-on drawn into Charles, Oliver and Mabel's orbit once their podcast starts drawing real attention. She's a true-crime devotee more than a professional, thrilled to be near the action, quick with opinions and theories, and a little too delighted by murder for anyone actually living through one.

Adina Verson plays the fan-turned-participant note perfectly, all bright-eyed enthusiasm undercut by comic tone-deafness about what she's actually witnessing. The show uses her to gently needle its own true-crime-obsessed audience, and Verson keeps Poppy funny rather than grating by playing the earnestness completely straight.
