Pickle

Pickle is a small, impish creature who turns up in the dungeon to guide the young adventurer and their team of advisers. Green-skinned, sharp-tongued, and forever hungry, he offers help with visible reluctance, driving hard bargains and grumbling about being put upon, even as he leads the way through danger.

David Learner plays him with a scratchy, put-upon voice and a comic's sense of timing, turning a rubber-suited dungeon creature into the show's most reliable source of mischief. He never lets the fantasy get too solemn — his grumbling asides and reluctant loyalty give children watching someone gleefully unimpressed by all the magic around him.
