Phil turns up in the ordinary, almost cosy corners of Villanelle's world — the kind of unremarkable man you'd walk past without a second glance. He's polite, a little awkward, and easy to underestimate, which is exactly the point: Killing Eve loves hiding menace inside blandness, and Phil arrives wearing that disguise well.

Steve Oram specialises in men who seem harmless right up until they don't, and Phil is built from that same unsettling ordinariness. The show uses him to remind you that danger in this universe rarely announces itself — it wears cardigans, makes small talk, and only reveals its edges when it's too late to look away.
