Pfc. 'Steve' Evanson

Pfc. Evanson is one of the young Marines swept into the Pacific campaign, a face among the ranks of Easy Company as the war grinds through island after island. He does what is asked of him, follows orders, and carries himself with the quiet, unshowy discipline of a man trying to get through it.

The Pacific builds its power from exactly this kind of presence — not a star turn but a believable body in the line, someone whose ordinariness makes the horror around him legible.
