Petra Solano

Petra Solano runs the Marbella hotel and is married to Rafael, though the marriage is unraveling and she is scheming to keep hold of both the man and the property. Icy, calculating, and quick with a lie, she treats affection as leverage and vulnerability as a weakness she can't afford to show.

The show hands her a stock telenovela-villainess role and then keeps finding the person underneath the scheming. Yael Grobglas plays the ice with such exact comic control, and lets flashes of real need slip through the cracks, that Petra becomes funnier and more sympathetic than her plotting ever suggests she deserves to be.
