Pete Twist

Pete Twist is one of the Twist kids living in a converted lighthouse on the Australian coast, a household where ordinary family life keeps colliding with the inexplicable. He's curious and a bit of a scrapper, quick to dive into whatever strange trouble the town's magic stirs up, dragging siblings and friends along whether they like it or not.

He works because the show never treats the weirdness as more important than the kid experiencing it — Pete stays recognisably a real boy, stubborn and unimpressed by adult explanations, even while ghosts or curses swirl around him. Sam Vandenberg plays him with an easy, unfazed physicality that makes the show's oddest moments feel like just another day.
