Pete

Pete is the new hire at the Scranton branch, young, easygoing, and immediately warm with Erin at the reception desk. He's affable and a little bland by design, slotting into the office without friction. He listens well, takes ribbing in stride, and seems genuinely nice in a workplace that has learned not to trust nice.

Jake Lacy plays him as almost aggressively pleasant, which becomes its own quiet joke in a show full of oddballs and schemers — the newcomer with no angle. He works as a mirror for how the office reacts to plain decency, and as a low-key romantic prospect whose niceness the show keeps testing rather than rewarding outright.
