Paulie 'Walnuts' Gualtieri

A capo in Tony Soprano's crew, Paulie is vain, superstitious, and quick to violence, with a helmet of silver hair he guards jealously. He talks constantly, complains louder, and treats respect as currency owed to him. Loyal to Tony on the surface, he's always calculating what's in it for Paulie.

Sirico plays him as pure comic menace, a man who can discuss ghosts, manicures, and murder in the same breath without changing register. The writing never lets you forget he's dangerous even while he's ridiculous, and that tension between clown and killer is what makes every scene with him unpredictable.
