Patrick "Rabbi" Milligan

Rabbi Milligan works the grounds of Roy Tillman's Minnesota ranch, a soft-spoken Irishman who keeps to himself and does his job without complaint. He is polite almost to the point of invisibility, the kind of hired hand nobody thinks twice about — which is exactly how he seems to prefer it.

Ben Whishaw plays him at a hush, all careful courtesy and downcast eyes, so that every hint of steel underneath lands like a small shock. The writing gives him a past worn lightly rather than explained, and Whishaw fills the gaps with stillness — you watch him and keep waiting to find out what he's actually capable of.
