Pat Schneider

Schneider is the building manager who treats the Alvarez apartment like his own living room, wandering in unannounced with wine and unsolicited opinions. Wealthy, restless, and lonely in ways he doesn't examine too closely, he's a recovering alcoholic playing at bohemian landlord while clearly craving the family warmth next door.

He could easily be a sitcom's spare wacky neighbor, but the writing keeps giving him real stakes—sobriety, isolation, a genuine ache for connection—under the goofball surface. Todd Grinnell plays the comedy loose and physical while letting flashes of vulnerability surface, so Schneider earns affection instead of just laughs.
