Overton "Obie" Wakefield Jones

Obie is the building's handyman superintendent, always underfoot in the girls' apartment with a toolbox and an opinion. He's got a hopeless, sweet crush on Synclaire, which he expresses through clumsy flirting and stubborn devotion, and he functions as the group's resident goofball, always ready with a joke, a scheme, or a shoulder to lean on.

John Henton plays Obie's lovesickness without a trace of self-pity, turning unrequited longing into some of the show's warmest comedy. He's big, loud, and physically fearless in his gags, but there's real tenderness underneath the mugging — you believe he'd fix anything in that apartment, wiring included, just to stay near Synclaire a little longer.
