Oscar George Bluth

Oscar Bluth is the family's dropout twin, a self-styled guru drifting between causes and, it's murmured, prison, with a soft spot for weed, tie-dye, and Lucille that predates the story we're watching. He ambles into the Bluths' orbit as George Sr.'s laid-back double, all beatific calm where his brother is bluster and scheme.

Jeffrey Tambor playing both Bluth twins is the joke and the marvel: two men built from identical genetics who couldn't have chosen more different lives, distinguished by a hairline and a whole philosophy. Oscar's stoned serenity is a running gag that never stops being funny, and Tambor finds new shades of vague, self-satisfied mysticism every time he appears.
