Omicronian #2

A citizen of Omicron Persei 8, glimpsed among the ranks of Lrrr's fearsome subjects. He appears where the show needs another looming green alien to grunt agreement, gawk at Earth broadcasts, or stand menacingly behind the throne, existing mostly to fill out the crowd of a species that finds humans endlessly entertaining and expendable.

Futurama's gag economy depends on background aliens who can turn a single line into a joke, and Phil LaMarr's flair for deadpan, oddly formal delivery makes even a nameless Omicronian sound like he takes his planet's business very seriously. It's a small piece of the show's trick of making every corner of its universe feel inhabited and slightly absurd.
