Olivia Crain

Olivia is the mother at the center of the Crain family, a talented architect who takes on the restoration of Hill House with her husband and five children in tow. She is warm, imaginative, and fiercely protective of her kids, especially the twins—but something in the house begins working on her.

Gugino plays Olivia as luminous and loving before letting cracks show, so the unraveling feels like a betrayal of someone we've come to trust rather than a stock horror-movie descent. The show's dual timeline structure means we meet her already gone, then fall for her anyway.
