Character
Oleg Igorevich Burov
Oleg Igorevich Burov in The Americans (2013), played by Costa Ronin.
Oleg Burov works counterintelligence for the Rezidentura in Washington, a KGB officer with an idealistic streak he'd never call by that name. He's sharp, restless, and quietly contemptuous of the careerists around him, more interested in doing his job honestly than in doing it safely. He watches Americans, and America, with genuine curiosity.
Costa Ronin plays him as a company man who keeps discovering he isn't one, and the show uses him to ask what decency costs inside a system built to punish it. His scenes with Stan Beeman crackle because neither man is sure whether they're enemies or something more complicated.
Oleg Igorevich Burov (Russian: Олег Игоревич Буров) is a main character on the FX series The Americans. He was the head of the KGB Directorate X department, which focuses on scientific and technological intelligence. Working at the Rezidentura, he has relationships with colleagues Arkady Zotov, Nine Sergveena and Tatiana Vyazemtseva.
