Old Slave

A minor figure glimpsed briefly in Futurama's sprawling future, Old Slave is exactly what the name suggests: someone consigned to menial toil in a world that treats servitude as just another bureaucratic footnote. He shows up, does the joke, and vanishes without ceremony, the way so many of the show's throwaway characters do.

Futurama's gift is dropping unsettling ideas into a single blunt name and moving on before you can flinch, and Old Slave is that trick in miniature. Billy West gives him just enough weary voice to land the gag, part of the show's habit of making its background jokes as sharp as its leads.
