Old Man in Line

He's a stranger glimpsed in a queue, one more face in the crowd of Futurama's world, muttering and grousing the way anyone stuck waiting does. He wants only to get through whatever bureaucratic delay is in front of him, and he behaves exactly like every impatient old-timer who has ever complained about a line.

Billy West can make even a one-off background grumbler feel like a fully lived-in person, dropping in a wheeze or a crotchety inflection that turns a throwaway joke into something texturally funny. The character works because Futurama trusts small, disposable voices to carry big laughs, and West never treats a bit part as beneath his full comic commitment.
