Mutsumi Tamura gives Nut a brisk, unsentimental warmth that cuts through the show's wide-eyed wonder — she's the friend who's seen enough delvers come and go to be wry about it without ever turning cynical. The writing uses her as a grounding wire, someone whose affection for Riko feels lived-in rather than sketched.
