Not Evans

Not Evans turns up as one of the countless one-scene faces that populate the fringes of New New York, the kind of name that exists mostly as a punchline or a background gag rather than a fully drawn figure. Whatever he wants, he wants it briefly, in service of a joke.

The pleasure here is entirely John DiMaggio's range on display — a performer capable of anchoring the whole show as Bender who can also toss off a throwaway voice for a barely-there character and make it land. It's a small reminder of how much texture Futurama's world gets from actors who never coast, even in passing.
