Norman Zoidberg

Zoidberg is Planet Express's staff physician, a lobster-like alien whose medical knowledge is dubious at best and whose confidence in it is total. He scuttles around the office hungry, broke, and desperate for anyone's affection, offering diagnoses that terrify patients and hugs that terrify everyone else. He means well. He is also, constantly, a mess.

Billy West gives him a wet, honking voice that makes every ridiculous pronouncement funnier, but the character's real trick is turning pure pathetic-ness into warmth rather than pity. He's disgusting, incompetent, and universally underestimated, yet the show keeps finding moments where his loyalty and loneliness land as genuinely touching.
