Niko Polastri

Niko is Eve Polastri's husband, a genial primary school teacher whose idea of excitement is a nice bit of Polish folk dancing at the weekend. He wants a normal, happy marriage — dinners cooked together, small talk, affection — and mostly gets a wife who is distracted, secretive, and increasingly elsewhere.

Owen McDonnell plays ordinariness so warmly that it becomes its own kind of tension: every scene with Niko asks what a marriage looks like next to a life like Eve's. He's never a joke or a doormat, just a decent, watchful man sensing something is wrong long before he understands what.
