Nikki Fernandez is one of the Oceanic 815 survivors who has been living on the beach for weeks before the show ever gives her a name, part of the shifting crowd of castaways doing chores and eyeing each other warily. She is polished, watchful, and often found alongside Paulo, with an air of someone who has more going on than the background role suggests.

Kiele Sanchez plays her with a glossy self-possession that stands out against the sunburned chaos of the camp, hinting she was somebody before the crash. Lost had spent seasons implying an unseen crowd of survivors, and giving one of them a face and a private agenda is a sly, unsettling move that pays off in a very Lost way.
