In the year 3000, celebrities live on as heads preserved in jars, and Nicole Kidman's Head is one of the faces that turns up in the background of New New York life. She behaves exactly as a glamorous, self-assured head-in-a-jar would: composed, a little vain, unbothered by having no body.

The joke is entirely in the premise, and Futurama trusts it to land without explanation — a beautiful movie star reduced to a jar on a shelf, still carrying herself like a star. Tress MacNeille's voice work gives the gag just enough poise to make the absurdity funnier than if it were played broad.
