Nick Jowett

Nick Jowett is the Olympic Deliverance Commission's Head of Sustainability, a role he treats with far more gravity than anyone around him seems to share. Blustering and easily wounded, he bristles at being sidelined, corrects colleagues on procedure, and insists on the importance of his brief even as the organisation quietly ignores it.

Vincent Franklin plays pomposity as a survival strategy, and the mockumentary format lets his indignation build in real time, one huffy aside at a time. The joke is never that Jowett is stupid but that he is the only person in the room who still believes the mission statement, which makes his outrage oddly touching as well as very funny.
