Natalie Maines

Natalie Maines turns up in Futurama the way so many recognizable names from the present do: as a severed head bobbing in a jar of preservative fluid, a relic of the twentieth century wheeled out for a joke or a museum tour. She has no arc, no want beyond existing as a punchline about immortality via decapitation.

The gag only works because Futurama commits to it completely, populating its future with an endless rotation of real-world names reduced to talking heads, and Tress MacNeille's gift for quick vocal impressions lets even a single line land with the specific, recognizable cadence of the person being lampooned rather than a generic celebrity voice.
