Nadia

Nadia is one of the sharp, literary undergraduates in Joe Goldberg's London creative writing seminar, quick with a skeptical eyebrow and a manuscript she's protective of. She's less dazzled by Joe's professorial charm than her classmates, watching him with the wary attentiveness of someone who reads people for a living.

Amy-Leigh Hickman gives Nadia a watchfulness that cuts against the show's usual parade of easily-fooled victims — she's written as someone whose instincts about Joe are good, which makes her scenes with him crackle with a different kind of tension than the show's typical seduction-and-secrecy rhythm.
