Mrs. Everyteen

Mrs. Everyteen appears as exactly what her name promises: a broad, generic sitcom mother, the kind of stock parental figure Futurama loves to parody. She exists inside the show's send-up of formulaic television, dispensing bland domestic authority and canned concern with the flat cheerfulness of a character built entirely from cliché.

The joke is the construction itself — a character whose whole identity is her genericness, voiced with Tress MacNeille's gift for nailing sitcom-mom cadence so precisely it becomes satire. She works because Futurama trusts the audience to recognize the type instantly, and MacNeille plays it dead straight, which is funnier than any punchline could be.
