Mr. Peanutbutter

A golden retriever in every sense, Mr. Peanutbutter bounds through Hollywoo as a former sitcom star who greets each day like it's the best one yet. He's sunny, impulsive, endlessly enthusiastic about whatever's in front of him, and lives next door to BoJack Horseman, whose gloom he simply cannot seem to register.

Paul F. Tompkins plays him with such unfiltered, guileless joy that he becomes the show's funniest device: a living rebuke to BoJack's cynicism who never once seems to notice he's being mocked. The comedy comes from how sincerely happy he is, and how that happiness starts to look, the longer you watch, like its own kind of unexamined life.
