Mr. Everyteen

Mr. Everyteen turns up inside one of Futurama's mock educational filmstrips, a blandly wholesome stand-in for Every Teenager, the kind of figure old classroom reels used to warn or instruct. He speaks in stiff, earnest platitudes, models whatever lesson the film is peddling, and behaves less like a person than a walking pamphlet.

The joke is entirely in the flatness: a character built to be a generic archetype, played completely straight. Maurice LaMarche gives him the plummy, overenunciated cadence of vintage instructional narration, which is funnier the more sincerely he commits to it. It's a tiny bit, but it lands because nobody breaks the bit to wink at you.
