Mother in Car

She appears exactly as the credit describes her: a mother, in a car, glimpsed for a moment in the sprawl of New New York traffic. Futurama's world is built from these passing faces, and she is one of them, present just long enough to register before the joke moves on.

Tress MacNeille is one of the show's great utility voices, and even a fragment like this benefits from her instinct for comic timing. The character works less as a personality than as texture, one more lived-in detail proving how densely populated and funny this universe is, even at its edges.
