Monty Miller runs the oil company that employs Tommy Norris, watching the whole operation from a cooler, wealthier remove. He's the boss who signs off on the risks other men take in the field, comfortable in boardrooms and mansions, treating the business as a game he already knows how to win.

Jon Hamm brings his Draper-era ease to a man who's swapped Madison Avenue polish for Texas oil money, and the effect is quietly funny and faintly menacing at once. He plays Monty as someone who has never had to raise his voice to get what he wants, which makes every calm request feel like a small threat.
