Monroe Fuches

Fuches is Barry's handler, the man who found him after the war and has been booking his kills ever since. He talks fast, flatters hard, and treats Barry like a prized asset worth protecting and controlling in equal measure. When Barry starts drifting toward an acting class instead of his next job, Fuches does not take it well.

Stephen Root plays him as pure need dressed up as friendship, a man whose warmth always has a hook in it. The writing keeps him funny and pathetic and dangerous at once, and Root never lets you settle on which one is real, so every scene with Barry hums with quiet, needling menace.
