Mombot

Mombot presents herself with the same syrupy, grandmotherly warmth that Mom is famous for, dispensing folksy affection and cheerful reassurance to anyone nearby. Built in that familiar mold, she smiles, coos, and mothers with an unsettling eagerness, all while carrying the same undercurrent of control that makes her human namesake so effective a villain.

Tress MacNeille's genius with the Mom persona is doubling down on the doting-old-lady voice until its sweetness curdles into menace, and Mombot gets to be a pure, mechanical distillation of that joke. There's something extra unnerving about a robot performing kindness on command, and MacNeille never lets the warmth fully drop, which is precisely what makes it funny and faintly creepy at once.
