Mohammed "Mo-mo" de la Cruz

Mohammed de la Cruz works the floor at All Saints as a nurse's aide, cheerful and unshakeable amid the hospital's daily chaos. Openly gay and devoutly Muslim, he moves through the ward with easy warmth, trading jokes with Jackie and the rest of the staff while quietly holding his own against the casual bigotry that comes his way.

Mo-mo could have been a punchline built entirely around his two identities, but Haaz Sleiman plays him with such unforced dignity that the show's writers end up treating him as a real person rather than a device. His breeziness reads as armor, not naivety, and the contrast with the hospital's cynicism makes him quietly memorable.
