Miss Piggy

Miss Piggy is the show's resident diva, a pig of enormous self-regard who has cast herself as leading lady whether the production agrees or not. She wants stardom, glamour, and Kermit's undivided devotion, and she pursues all three with a shameless, headlong confidence that steamrolls anyone in her path.

The joke is the gap between her self-image and reality, but Frank Oz never lets her be just a punchline — underneath the karate chops and swooning romanticism is real hurt and real want, delivered with such total conviction that the vanity becomes weirdly endearing rather than grating.
