Mike Nelson

Mike Nelson is one half of Twin Peaks High's letterman-jacket duo with Bobby Briggs, running with the same reckless swagger and small-town bravado. He's introduced as a jock caught up in trouble bigger than he understands, quick to posture and slow to admit fear, more follower than leader when things turn dark.

Hershberger plays Mike as bluster with cracks in it, a tough-guy performance that keeps slipping to reveal a scared teenager underneath. He's a useful barometer for the show's tonal swings, capable of comic strutting one scene and genuine dread the next, grounding Twin Peaks' surrealism in ordinary adolescent panic.
