Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo

When we meet him, Félix Gallardo is a former police officer with connections and ambition, working the margins of Mexico's fractured drug trade. He is patient, courteous, and calculating, more businessman than gangster, quietly persuading rival growers and traffickers that they would profit more by combining forces under him than by competing.

Diego Luna plays him as reasonable, almost soft-spoken, which is what makes his rise so unsettling — he never raises his voice because he never has to. The show frames him as an architect rather than a thug, and Luna finds the vanity and control-hunger underneath the affable exterior without ever tipping into cartoon menace.
